Welcome to Beautiful Mt Welby
A visit to the Shenandoah mountain region of Virginia is a visit back in time, and Mt Welby is the perfect setting for this journey. Virginia is cherished for its sweeping and beautiful geography, including Atlantic beaches, the Chesapeake Bay watershed, and the majestic Blue Ridge Mountains, as well as its fantastic and important history. Mt. Welby Country Estate is in the heart of it all.
Step back in time while staying at our lovely country estate. This home was built in 1823 and underwent a full restoration in 2004, keeping the charm of the original wood-and-stone home but updating it with modern amenities and undoing the damage of nearly two-hundred years of wear. The lovely white estate is perfectly situated on top of a small hill, offering spectacular views in every direction.
This three-story home has five bedrooms, three-and-a-half baths, and sleeps ten guests comfortably. The living space is expansive, with a large great room, sizeable kitchen, library, study, and several porches and balconies. Though the house is impressive, it is the grounds you will fall in love with. The sixty-three acre estate includes manicured gardens, wild meadows, several ponds, a babbling brook, plenty of shade trees, and panoramic views of the Blue Ridge Mountains and Shenandoah Forests. It is a great place to relax or play.
Shenandoah, Virginia is sixty miles from Washington, DC and its surrounding suburbs – close enough to commute – but with its pristine forests and old buildings, it feels a million miles away.
